Trying to figure out where to start....
But here's the skinny of it. Got a lotta stuff up in the air. I'm still drawing but the lack of a scanner is really starting to piss me off. The last one wasn't compatible with the iMac, the result being, all the scans looked like they were taken by a cellphone with a crappy camera and no flash. (WTF!??)
Hopefully that might be changing soon enough.
So for the record, YES, I'm still drawing. Although my current situation tends to run quite a bit interference there. But I'll spare you all the details.
One of the projects I'm doing is a commemorative art book for an rpg I had the pleasure of being in quite a few years back. I think my skill level has reached the point where I can do it some justice. So far, so good. Needless to say though, there have been some changes in overall designs, something closer to real-world practicality. But hey, all in all it looks pretty freakin' cool to me. Been researching Chinese, Arabic, Mongolian, Japanese, and European medieval clothing armour and weapons. And large frame mechs as well. There'll also be a bit of art from the 'Plan B' scenario from the same game.
In better news, I managed to get picked up as manga instructor at an art studio not too far from home. Sweet!
The even sweeter part of it is that, I get to attend ANY class that's taught there for FREE! And yup, I jumped all the hell over the life drawing/figure drawing class! Merciful Zeus, I forgot how much fun working with various live models can be!! It also helps immensely when they're comic, manga, and animation fans. I've also been running a comic art and techniques page on Facebook, which has actually helped me out quite a bit. It was something I established after butting heads with some seriously easily butt-hurt individuals while I was in another group.
I also recently discovered that I don't hate superheros....I just hate the comics, lol! The Watchmen, Unbreakable, Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, Thor, Spiderman, Iron Man, and Hancock, made me realize I prefer the cinematic approach. The result being, I'm currently helping a friend in my FB art group designing the characters he writes. And it also has me imagining a new 'Greatest American Hero' concept as well.
Anyways with all of that being said, I'm also opening up a new gallery on this page. It'll feature unfinished art projects that I never got to finish for reasons beyond my control, but yet haunt me, lol! I'll probably just call it Project Purge'. The plan is to just post everything that's going in there all at once. Stand by for for Clare and company, Tiger Orange and YOTC, Bo-Lin fanart, will also be showing in the near future. Maybe even a certain pink bombshell super heroine my show up as well.
